Sat down with Darrell Smock at the Metamora Fields Golf Club this past Sunday morning. Darrell is the Director of Golf for Metamora Fields and Weaver Ridge Golf Clubs, and under an arrangement with new owners, also for Sunset Hills Golf Course in Pekin.
Darrell shares his personal and professional background, and we discuss Sunset Hills (also home to Mashie’s Pub), Weaver Ridge (featuring the new Slice restaurant, along with two wraparound indoor golf simulators), and Metamora Fields. We go over the planned bunker renovation project that is expected to be underway throughout the summer at Weaver Ridge (but not disrupting daily play), as well as an upcoming night golf opportunity at Metamora fields, among other events of interest.
One correction — the glow ball (night golf) event at Metamora Fields will be Fri, May 20th, not the 22nd as reported during the interview.
If you didn’t already know, Weaver Ridge and Metamora Fields are sibling golf clubs, so membership in one conveys playing privileges at the other. In addition, both offer a Player’s Card which offers discounted greens fees at both.
