Sat down this past week with Brien Davis, winner of the 2022 Tazewell County Amateur, as well as the 2019 and 2021 Peoria Men’s City Tournaments, and the 2019 Pine Lakes Open.
Brien is originally from Portland, Oregon, and is the 1997 Oregon Junior champion. He played his way onto the UNLV golf team, which at that time included Charley Hoffman, Ryan Moore, and Adam Scott, among others. Brien then found some success on mini-tours, but did not ultimately make it to the PGA Tour.
Brien did find a life partner and eventual spouse, and Peoria native, while living for a few years in Chicago, and they ended up settling here in the Peoria area about eight years ago.
We discuss these things in detail, along with several anecdotes along the way, as well as Brien’s winning performance in the 2022 Tazewell Amateur at Lick Creek Golf Course, his involvement in the River Cup, his amateur golf goals over the next few years, and a few other topics you don’t want to miss.
